World leaders in printing technology; Xerox launched the unique, ColorQube 8570 range earlier this year, which use solid-ink rather than liquid ink or powdered toner. Solid ink is both economical and environmentally friendly because it lacks the plastic surround and non biodegradable components of other cartridges.
The Xerox ColorQube 8570 uses solid blocks of ink, one for each of the 4 primary colours, dropped into slides, underneath a hinged top cover. The block at the front of each line is heated inside the printer and melts the ink at around 100 degrees Celsius. Originally, solid ink machines were aimed at graphic designers and were often used for page proofs in publishing houses, a good indication that the quality is first class.
The are 3 models of the Xerox ColorQube 8570, the N standard with optional automatic 2 sided printing, DN including automatic double sided printed and DT with automatic two-sided printing and twice the paper capacity. Prices range from around £450 for the Xerox ColorQube 8570N. Read More…
